Review the destination address before downloading. Start from a product page or its official repository so you can find release notes, supported platforms and installation instructions together.
Choose a release channel

A prepared update may still be awaiting submission or certification. A published GitHub release does not automatically update a running installation. Check the version in the installed app after an update.
Before and after an update
- Save active work and back up project files or notes using the app's documented export or backup options.
- Read release notes for migrations, changed settings and platform requirements.
- Download the correct package. When the release publishes checksums, compare your downloaded file using the project's instructions.
- Install through the channel you chose and reopen the app. Confirm the installed version.
- Check one ordinary workflow: open an existing project or note and send a harmless prompt using your configured route.
Do not remove an older app or its data as a troubleshooting shortcut before preserving your work. If an installer warning appears, confirm the source and follow published guidance rather than disabling protection broadly.
When the version numbers differ
Record the channel, installed version and package name. Compare against that channel's release page. If a product page describes a prepared release, the text is development information; it is not evidence that the Store has approved it.
