On-device ZNotes

Create and edit notes stored using operating system protected encryption. No TalkToAI web account is needed. Notes are not automatically synced; preserve important work with separate backups.

Your AI workspace

Connect an existing local model runtime, your self-hosted OpenZero server or a supported API provider. Review the active route before sending private material. Provider charges and limits apply.

Grant one task in the isolated browser tab. The pilot has a 12-step limit, a visible Stop control and approval pauses for consequential actions. A supporting runtime must be configured.

Connection and storage status

See endpoint reachability, permissions and credential storage status. A status badge is not proof of protection. Optional Windows BitLocker status does not silently enable disk encryption.

Edition-specific updates

Store apps update through Microsoft Store. Direct editions follow separate release instructions. The Store edition does not install local models or use a separate desktop updater.

A simpler desktop foundation

The prepared 7.9.6 update replaces retired hosted integrations with local ZNotes and user-configured runtime or API connections.

Publication status. 7.9.6 is the prepared update described here. This page does not announce a new Store release. Check Microsoft Store and the public GitHub release page for the versions actually available.

Your first ten minutes

  1. Install and identify your edition. Use the Store listing or official repository instructions for your platform.
  2. Create a ZNote. Write a short note, confirm it reopens and plan separate backups for important work.
  3. Choose an AI route. In Settings, connect an existing local runtime, your own OpenZero address or a supported API profile.
  4. Try one small task. Send a short chat request. For Browser Pilot, open its isolated tab, describe one bounded task and grant that tab.
  5. Inspect a folder. Select a folder in ZSEC Shield and read findings, skipped items and errors. Keep existing operating system protection active.

Before you begin

Does ZERO ONE need a TalkToAI account?

No TalkToAI website account is needed for local notes. Optional APIs and runtimes may require their own credentials.

Are notes automatically backed up?

No. Notes remain on the device and user profile used by the app. Keep separate backups and follow the documentation before moving data between devices.

Can Browser Pilot operate every website?

No. It operates in a granted isolated tab within a bounded task. Passwords, payment fields, file inputs and CAPTCHA are outside the documented pilot workflow. Unsupported pages and approval pauses can stop a task.

Does the included scan replace my antivirus?

No. The selected-folder scanner is a security companion, without independent efficacy certification or guaranteed malware detection. Keep the operating system's existing protection enabled.
